Coinbase Signin Process

Getting Started with Coinbase, a digital currency wallet and platform, is relatively easy, but we’ll take you through it step by step. Logging in to your account for the first time (even if you have an account already) will take you through three easy steps. First you have to enter your email address and password. Then, connect your bank account or debit card so that you can deposit money into your new account. Last but not least, there’s verification of identity process that includes uploading a picture of yourself with a government-issued ID card like a passport or driver’s license.

Step 1. Register

The first step in signing up for Coinbase is to register an account. This is accomplished via a third-party platform such as Facebook or Twitter, and users can then either create a new email address specific to their Coinbase account or import their existing email. Next, users must provide a name and country of residence, date of birth (for identity purposes), proof of residency, social security number (US only) and photo ID (depending on location). Security measures are put in place to ensure that no one else has access to your information; however, it is important that you choose a strong password and keep your login details safe. Users are also required to link their bank accounts with Coinbase so they can purchase cryptocurrency directly through their online wallet.

Step 2. Verify Your Phone Number

Once you sign up for a Coinbase account, you will have to verify your phone number to continue. To do so, click on Buy/Sell at the top of your dashboard, then scroll down and select Verify Phone. Here's what you need to do from there: Enter your mobile number . Coinbase will send a code via text message that you'll need to enter in order to finish verifying your phone number. Click Verify Phone Number. You should be redirected back to Coinbase shortly after completing these steps. Congrats! You're done with step 2!

Step 3. Set Up Two Factor Authentication

Once you’ve linked your bank account, you need to set up two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Coinbase account. 2FA is an extra layer of security that will help protect your digital assets in case there is a breach at either Coinbase or with any third party service you’re using. 2FA helps prevent unauthorized access to both your Coinbase account and any applications that use API keys. To enable two-factor authentication on Coinbase, click Accounts from your dashboard and then select Two Factor Authentication from the left-hand navigation bar. You can also find 2FA under Settings if that is easier for you to locate.

Step 4. Add Payment Method

After signing up, you’ll be prompted to add a payment method in order to complete your registration. Upon adding a valid payment method, you will then be able to buy and sell cryptocurrencies from Coinbase. Buying cryptocurrencies on Coinbase is as simple as purchasing an item on Amazon. Once added, navigate to Buy/Sell at Accounts tab of your dashboard for buying and selling options. The available cryptocurrencies for purchase or sale on Coinbase are Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC) and Ripple (XRP).
