Federico Gutierrez managed to reach the finals of his candidacy for the center-right by gaining more than 1.7 million votes. The former mayor of Medellin has won the Barguil, Char Penalosa, Barguil, as well as the tab for los Cristianos, Aydee Lizarazo.

Federico Gutierrez, a former mayor from Medellin, was born in the city in 1974. He has been an elected Medellin Municipal Youth Councilor since 2003. He was also accused in the Panama Papers investigation by Daniel Coronell for keeping his money in tax havens and also for corruption.

Actually, he fought with the former mayors whom he had supported. He said recently, "I have been standing in solidarity with those in the report because I don't believe anyone decides to make such a decision in order to make sure that the diversion tunnel is not averted. It is a matter of solidarity and certain sectors have to be targeted by political strategies."
