Federico Gutierrez managed to reach the official candidacy of the center-right, by gaining over 1.7 million votes. The former mayor of Medellin, won Barguil, Char Penalosa, Barguil, and the tab of los Cristianos, Aydee Lizarazo.

Federico Gutierrez, a former mayor from Medellin, was born in Medellin in 1974. Since 2003 , he has begun his political career as a city councilor for his hometown, he is framed as Municipal Youth Councilor and Municipal Planning Councilor of Medellin. Gutierrez is a licensed Civil Engineer at the University of Medellin. In addition, Gutierrez holds a Specialization in Senior Management and Political Science degrees from the Pontifical Bolivarian University.

Fico Gutierrez was not only a political figure in his career. He was also a Consultant at HGI Consultores as well as an engineer in residence at Company Vifasa S.A. (a glass and construction company). In Fico Gutierrez , he defends and says that his family is his most significant asset. He is married to a female and has two kids.

He supported Sergio Fajardo as mayor and Alonso Salazar later in his councilman's career. In 2015 he changed his plans and became the Mayor's Office of Medellin. Like all mayors facing the Hidroituango projects the mayor was plagued by corruption. Daniel Coronell published an investigation that concluded that he was guilty of corruption and keeping his cash in tax havens.

The latest presidential race

The so-called Experience coalition, which later was renamed the Team for Colombia, was created in the month of October 2021. Federico Gutierrez was the Center-right alliance , and was elected to the presidency. Paola Holguin, a Democratic Center congressman, ran again for the seat in the 2022 election.

In addition, on several occasions he has repeated that his administration model is not based on public management but for the people and has also stated that politics is a career. Gustavo Petro was second in voting, which means that "Fico" (as he prefers to call himself) will be Antioquia's representative for the right.
