How to Get Materia

1. Mostly, players can get Materia by buying them out of the market board with FFXIV Gil.

2. Players can get Materia by trading them against the specific currencies listed below:

Cracked Stellacluster can be exchanged for level 80 Materia, and it is obtainable by purchasing or battling. For example, players may need to defeat False Idol, which is the boss at The Tower
at Paradigm’s Breach raid in patch 5.5. Or players can purchase from Khloe
Aliapoh in Idyllshire (x5.7,y6.0).

Cracked Cluster can be exchanged for level 70 Materia, and players can purchase or battle to get it. For example, players may need to defeat Ultima, The High Seraph, which is the boss at The Orbonne
Monastery raid in patch 4.5. Or players can purchase from Khloe Aliapoh in
Idyllshire (x5.7,y6.0).

Mhachi Matter can be exchanged for level 60 Materia, and players need to purchase or battle to get it. For example, players may need to defeat Diabolos, which is the boss at Dun Scaith raid
in patch 3.5. Or players can purchase from Khloe Aliapoh in Idyllshire
(x5.7,y6.0).

3. Players can earn Materia and FF14 Gil by taking part in duty roulette as a role.

The role is being needed by randomized duty, which players are queuing to get. And the role mostly is tank and healer but sometimes DPS.

4. Players can earn Materia and Specific Currency by killing Elite Marks.

Killing Rank A Elite Marks has a 50% chance to obtain Materia and Cracked Stellacluster. You can even get a higher chance if Rank S Elite Marks are killed.

5. Players can earn Materia from weekly activity - Wondrous Tails.

6. Players can earn Materia from running a treasure map.

They need to complete the level 36 quest - Treasures and Tribulations, which starts by talking to H’loonh in Eastern La Noscea (x21,y21).

7. Players can create and attach Materia by themselves.

They must complete the Forging the Spirt quest. The quest giver is Swynbroes, located at The Bonfire in Central Thanalan(23,13).
