You would think finding information about business qualifications is easy, wouldn’t you? With Google, Facebook (Meta) and Amazon all touting their search algorithms as the ‘best thing since sliced bread’, it should be a breeze.

But it’s not! People define the word ‘business’ differently, for a start, which doesn’t help. It's both a noun and a verb. Sadly, many don’t understand the difference. Try searching around the web for courses in business subjects and you’ll soon realise how frustrating it can be.

When we began market research for our new business education website back in 2013 and 2014, we found that very few teaching establishments or training providers offered very much at all, other than degree level study at one end and a handful of so-called CPD courses at the other. Courses for business qualifications were expensive even then, and most took years of study.

This was perhaps ok for established business professionals already in commercial careers but didn’t really offer much hope or inspiration to the "ordinary" student or recent school leaver who just wanted to improve their career prospects. Some training providers listed basic business courses on their websites but browsing through their courses revealed they were mainly add-ons to their mainstream activities.

We decided to fill the “gap”, combined our own business and academic skills, and set out to offer specialist courses to ambitious business professionals at all levels of development. Business Qualifications was born.
