Great FAQ, answers a whole lot of my initial doubts.

Gosh, this seems so complicated. On the one hand, kudos for keeping the game intact so there won't be a riot over fluctuations people don't like. But on meseta pso2 the flip side, since they are remaking base PSO2 visuals anyway, I wish they would just go 100% and synchronize personality models entirely. Giving old players a few free style items and unlocks will be enough to bribe everyone to take the new system.

Synchronizing 100% personality models does not seem easy. The dilemma is that the old outfits and layer wear are modeled to fit the older pso2 body. That is not likely to occur. I mean that I would be ready to drop a certain proportion of those makeup to keep things intact around versions. Provided that there's a continuous feed of cool new things to replace it, I do not mind. I always rotate my old appearances anyway. As long as the character models translate 1:1 it will still feel like mine.

The instance I can think of is that the Monster Hunter Frontier Z collaboration where I can envision the clothing and weapons could definitely be provided a visual update along with everything else but that I do not exactly understand how the licensing or the way the legal side of the collaboration works where I would wish it had been as easy as Sega going through and upgrading the assets but I don't understand about just how much Capcom is involved in that procedure.

The same is applicable to collaborations such as the Final Fantasy XIV collaboration with Odin (which still exists as far as I know) where I do not understand just how much of Square Enix is involved in that for Sega to have the ability to update assets there. If it was only just Phantasy Star-related items (like character outfits, cameos from other games, or alternative Sega-related possessions ) I could envision that this probably would have been achieved, or at least would be done. But in the Global version we already don't have the existence of Cougar NX so I don't know if there are additional complications seeing Sega's own properties that may also contribute not to upgrading everything they can within reason.

I can envision that likely out there we'll still see someone wearing those older collaboration items even if they aren't awakened to the same standards as new makeup in a similar manner and that there would have been outrage when it had been made obsolete or unusable. Collabs that have had their cosmetics removed still have their resources exist on the sport so those will probably still be available for buy PSO2 Meseta jp players.
