Gustavo Petro, Winner of the Historic Pact: Lights and Shadows

Gustavo Petro the candidate confirmed on Sunday the favoritism which was evident in polls for the past week.

The election was won by Bogota's previous mayor and senator of the Republic. This means that he is a candidate for the presidency of the Republic the office that he hopes to win for the 3rd time.

The overwhelming majority during the consultation makes him to be the most representative persona of the Colombian left and a firm candidate to be president despite his controversial ideas and opinions on various fronts, including the one on economics.

Petro declared his intention to alter the pension system via the creation of a public administrator to pension funds. He also intends to create a system which is "mixed-and-complementary" and private fund.

According Petro, there's no system of pensions in Colombia. But, there are petro gustavo . have claimed that Petro will eliminate any possibility of becoming President. Petro has recently stated that he would not eliminate the system but would push for reforms to pensions so that they can provide the minimum amount of income to Colombians. He also said there was "no requirement" to increase the pension age.

Experts believe that Petro's plan of ending oil exploration would have a devastating effect on Colombia and cost Colombia $4.3 trillion.

Petro stated that he spoke to Pedro Sanchez, the Prime Minister of Spain about his proposal.

His position on health issues has also been controversial because he insists on eliminating EPS and replacing it with a proactive health model that "guarantees the rights of individuals and not the profit of bankers".

He also questioned the independence the Banco de la Republica. He also announced that he would make reforms should he become President.

Petro said that the Bank Board of Directors belongs to the Democratic Center. Accordingly, the candidate in the middle of a debate said "What do we need? An independently run Bank of the Republic (...) It is to me essential that the Board of Directors has the presence of the society."

The idea of releasing money to finance spending on government was not without controversy.

Petro's plans concentrate on a sustainable economy that isn't dependent on fossil fuels.

He also proposes an overhaul to the tax code that removes exemptions, and transforms the concept of minimum wages by real wages based on capital or income.
