The next step is to complete the SBCGlobal server setting.

Steps required for SBCGlobal server setting

After opening the Server setting page, you will have to complete the “server setting” in two different phases. They are:-
1. Incoming Email server.
2. Outgoing Email server.
For incoming email server, either of IMAP or POP may be used and for the Outgoing Email server, SMTP should be used.

Let’s start with IMAP and SMTP combination.
The IMAP stands for “Internet Message Access Protocol” which is known for delivering all such emails to your inbox, that is sent to you by others. While The SMTP that stands for “Simple Mail Transfer Protocol” is known for delivering all such emails to others that you want to be delivered. Both the SMTP and IMAP have various keys of the same names such as:
1. Server address
2. Port number
3. Username
4. Password
But data filled for all these keys are quite different. See, how to get it done.

For IMAP

The server address must be “imap.mail.att.net”.
The Port number must be either of 995 and 993. The choice of the port number depends on whether the SSL is chosen or not.
In the key given by the name “Username” to mention your AT&T email address, and in the field given for entering some password, you will have to mention your SBCGlobal password there.

The IMAP setting is completed.

For SMTP

In SMTP, the rest of all information will be the same, other than the port number and the Server address. Here “smtp.mail.att.net” should be entered as the server address and either of 465 and 587 should be used as the port number.
