Coinbase Wallets

Coinbase offers three kinds of wallets. They are as follows: Coinbase Consumer (referred to as Accounts in their documentation), Coinbase Pro, and Coinbase Prime. Note that these wallet types have different security levels, which we will go over later on in our guide. But first, let’s start with how you can open each type of wallet.

Coinbase Global Digital Asset Exchange (GDAX) Account

In order to deposit, trade, or withdraw USD from your Coinbase account you will need to have an acceptable form of ID. This can be in any shape or form as long as it verifies your identity. Some examples of acceptable forms of ID include: Passport Driver’s License National ID Card State-issued Identification Card Military Identification If you do not have an acceptable form of ID then you will not be able to make USD withdrawals from your Coinbase account until such time that you do.
