Inspired by Symbolic Mythology + Folklore

Not only is today's spectacular wedding filled with brightly colored flowers inspired by classic, 1950s cinema, and Italian romance, but it's also full of deeply personal touches.

Let's meet our couple, who works in artificial intelligence for Google, and they enjoyed a 2-day wedding celebration around 13-14 September at an impressive and welcoming private villa and guest house around the tiny island of Ortigia, Sicily.

The bridesmaids wore their very own floral crowns, with citrus-hued roses contrasting with ivory blooms and sprigs of olive. Alice carried a bright bouquet, which and all from the arrangements during the day were produced.

The bridesmaids looked wonderful within an assortment of tropical-hued dresses of their very own choosing, and I adore Alice's inspiration for her looks.

"I asked my bridesmaids to decorate as bright tropical fruits to resemble the shades of houses inside a Caribbean beach town: mango, papaya, melon, palm. To 'tropicalize' oneself is a way of life along with a philosophy they discuss in Mexico; it's an attitude and capability to rejoice regardless of what."

Alice's elegant gown, using its structured bodice, sweetheart neckline, and full, raw silk skirt was custom-produced, whom Alice discovered at a London boutique,

Alexander wore a smartly tailored, bespoke suit, that they wore had a pale, ice blue bow tie, in addition to blue socks, and shoes.

Ahead of the ceremony, Alice and Alexander enjoyed a tender first look moment together, which are some of my favorite images from the whole day, captured with sweetness and sincerity. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Sandra, and she brings such delicacy and artwork style to her work.

"We got engaged on the rooftop overlooking the Caribbean Sea at sunset in Cartagena, Colombia. There was drumming within the streets that shook the walls beside us, and also the air smelled like fried fish, tropical fruits, and summer. Alex and I have been out on the boat all day long and were consuming the whole setting. The proposal wasn't planned; it had been an epiphany for Alex."

The couple has been legally married in London in front of their Sicilian sojourn, as well as their celebrant was Reverend LeeAnne Watkins, who joined them via a family connection within the USA. This resulted in Alice and Alexander could write their very own vows to one another, in addition to exchanging rings.

Tropically bright flowers spilled from every surface, and also the villa was lit by magical candlelight. Floral table runners were also decorated with fragrant Sicilian lemons, and put settings included handwritten name cards and photos.

There seemed to be live music and dancing during cocktail hour, thanks to singer Dino and the band Soto's (sadly not able to find any more details about this guitar rock band) which appeared to if brilliant fun!

The evening feast was prepared and served by them at, starting with antipasti, then risotto, a pasta course, after which fish was served with vegetables and salad.

"We served Aperol and Campari spritzes, which complimented the intense, tropical dresses and spirit from the day, and stood out like colorful fruits within the magical garden."

After messages filled with tears and laughter, Alice donned a gorgeously extravagant lace mantua veil and also the couple went outside to chop their wedding cake and revel in their first married dance together.

"Our favorite part of the day was dancing with Dino and the band. We were bopping around following the rain out within the courtyard, and we were full of adrenaline and silly with passion. It was this type of party, and absolutely nothing like I've visited before either, filled with soul and mixed genres. It was perfect."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"Invite whom you love and whom you trust. There are no rules. Put your magic in it. Fantasize just a little! Allow yourself to be inspired. There's nobody look and theme, and also you do not have to take yourself seriously."
