In 2010, as I was preparing my third pking, I considered botting. It is quite obvious to anyone who's had the privilege of training a Pking account that it is boring. In hindsight, I was fortunate because at the time a lot of accounts were taken by botting websites. I decided partly because of this that it would not be a good idea to set up a pking account through botting.

Jagex isn’t solving the problem. The players who are bots are bored of the concept of gaining levels to pk with, and with good reasons. Pkers who want to train their skills in the traditional way of killing mobs have had to kill the same mobs for years it's always minotaurs, monks, or any other grindable mob.

My solution to the botting issues of private servers and private pkers is that the process of levelling can be made more fun. Jagex needs to move beyond physical prevention and not look at the botting issue in that way. There are still bots returning to Runescape after the bot's nuke. Jagex must focus on the reason that people are botting. Then they can knock out a lot of botters, leaving only those who bot for cash.

The solution to "pk botters" is to make training combat enjoyable and not a painful experience. This can be achieved through introducing things that are aimed specifically at pkers as well as other grinding players, like introducing some kind of game in which you can earn money for playing well against people and not just rewards for tradeable or experience.

Although you may think "this will affect our economy" or something like that I think that most pkers would purchase a lot before they started pking and then send their money to the suppliers of the popular pking supplies. I don't think a light price increase for pking supplies will be all that bad, as many items have been extremely affordable due to botting.
