Lunesta is often prescribed only on a short-term basis to treat those who suffer from serious sleep disorders such as insomnia. Anyone who takes Lunesta without a prescription, in doses greater than recommended, recreationally flexeril overdose(for example, in combination with other substances), or longer than prescribed, is considered to be abusing the drug. Therefore, to avoid lunesta overdose, a physician should be consulted before taking it. Prolonged abuse of Lunesta can cause a person to become addicted to the substance.
