The Smith Machine

While this may seem simple enough, pulling yourself up steadily can be difficult if done incorrectly. That's where a gym rig comes in handy: by suspending a weight plate from one side of the barbell or Crossfit cable®, you can make this exercise much easier and more challenging than doing it on a standard pull-up bar alone.
