1. Leukemia

The incidence of childhood tumors in my country has risen by 18.8% in the past five years. Leukemia accounts for 40% of the total incidence of childhood tumors. Approximately 30,000 new children with leukemia are added every year.

Leukemia is the number one killer of children and one of the main causes of death among children. The incidence of malignant tumors in children ranks first, with a high incidence of 0-14 years old.

Children's regular physical examinations and blood tests are the only way to detect leukemia and other blood diseases in an early stage.

2. Brain tumor

The incidence of brain tumors in children in my country is second only to leukemia and is the second leading killer of children. Approximately 7,000 children in China suffer from brain tumors each year.

Many children with brain tumors are mistaken for myopia by their parents. parents should remember that if their child is suddenly short-sighted with vomiting, headache and poor mental state, they should perform an MRI or CT scan of the child's brain as soon as possible to rule out brain tumors.

3. Neuroblastoma

Neuroblastoma, a common solid tumor in children, is most common in infants under 5 years old, and about 75% of patients under 5 years old. Approximately 65% of tumors originate in the abdomen, 15%-20% originate in the chest, and the remaining 15% originate in different parts such as the neck and pelvis.

The younger the neuroblastoma is, the sooner it is discovered and the easier it is to cure. The long-term disease-free survival rate of late-stage older children is only 5% to 30%. Regularly check the body surface every year for lumps, and do abdominal ultrasound examination to help prevent this disease.

4. Osteosarcoma

Osteosarcoma is a malignant bone tumor. It usually occurs in young people between the ages of 8 and 25. The early stage is recessive and the symptoms are not obvious. 60% of patients are diagnosed as middle or late stage. Early childhood osteosarcoma is easily considered by parents as "growth pain" and missed the best treatment period leading to amputation.

The advanced stage of osteosarcoma is very painful. Most patients will have lung metastasis within one year of illness. Early treatment methods are more effective and the possibility of cure is high. Regular physical examination can detect osteosarcoma in the early stage.
