The setup starts with checking your iPhone to know if a set up is required. To restore it you have to obliterate all the data in it a well as any pictures, videos, contacts and music. The next step is to connect the iPhone with a computer using a USB cable then iTunes should launch automatically. If it fails to launch on its own, then you can begin the application yourself. The name of you iPhone should appear under the heading "devices", which will be on the left side of the screen. This is to notify you that the phone is connected. Once you have clarified this, you can move on to step three.

If your iTunes is configured to sync automatically once your phone is connected, then it will start transferring all its data to the computer. Do not overlook this step as all the new content that you may have added to the phone, plus the purchased songs and apps as well as the captured videos and pictures are all transferred to the computer. If it is not set to sync automatically, then the next step should be to sync it up manually. Start the synchronization by pressing on the "sync" button, which will appear at the right side, on the bottom of the phone's "summary" tab in your iTunes.

This should be followed by viewing the information page of your iPhone through your iTunes. The main window of iTunes will contain two windows at the middle. Click on the "Restore" button, then proceed to the fifth step. After clicking "restore", you will receive a warning from iTunes concerning the erasure of all media as well as data that you may have on your iPhone once you restore it to its factory settings.
