RFD-TV is the leading network for Rural Media Group. The name of the channel is a reference to rural free delivery, the name for the United States Postal Service's system of delivering mail directly to rural patrons Launched in December of 2000, RFD-TV is the country's first 24-hour TV station including programming focused on the agribusiness, equine and the provincial ways of life, alongside customary bluegrass music and amusement. FamilyNet was changed over to a western way of life channel on July 1, 2017, tapping RFD-TV programming to begin. This was the first arrangement for FamilyNet, yet appearing to be restricted programming and interest, Gottsch held off.
