Knowing the syllabus will help the candidates to devise their study strategy. CSE and IT syllabus

The syllabus will have everything that is covered in the UG engineering course. You will have to attempt questions from the aptitude section. Furthermore, there will be topics covering architecture, digital logic, algorithm, programming and data structures, theory of computation, Databases, Computer Networks, and Operating systems.

The particulars will have: 

• The exam duration will be of 3 hours. 
• The mode of examination is online. This means the candidate must take the test on a computer. 
• The total number of questions and their type will be: 65 questions; all will be multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT). 
• The GATE will be a 100 marks paper. 
• The number of sections will have Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and questions that are subject-specific. 
• The marking pattern will be: 1 mark MCQs, for each wrong answer 1/3 mark will be deducted. 2 mark MCQs, for each wrong answer 2/3 mark will be slashed off. Zero for questions that will remain unattempted. There will be no negative marking for the Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

Understanding the method of preparation for the GATE 2022

• Start as early as possible to avoid leaving out topics in the eleventh hour. The comfort of preparing and the mental peace are the big pluses. 
• Understanding the syllabus and the question paper pattern is of utmost importance to be able to manage time. You will know how much time you must spend on each question to avoid the chances of not being able to complete writing the paper.
