First lets see what the main version has to say. The second definition of "abstract" in the Concise Oxford Dictionary states "Optimistic, not useful; abstruse; (Art etc.) devoid of representational qualities" And it is this last description I want to take a look at.

Painting becomes intriguing where practical and abstract painting are connected. Then practical painting goes from: forming things the way we believe they exist to: re-creating reality in the way YOU saw and experienced it. And importing reasonable aspects in abstract painting allows you to provide brand-new meaning to abstract poems the things you paint. Your subject may be product (a portrait, landscape or such) or immaterial (a sensation, concept or state of mind). But when you make to yourself this demand of meaning, that is: a recommendation to reality, that's where equivalent, valueless colors, strokes and geometrical shapes turn into significant colors, kinds and gestures. You may even give an external look to things that didn't yet have an external look.

Abstract Art is color and form and shapes and lines used in a non-representational way. Modern painting and sculpture that depart from the idea of art as a replica of nature are considered abstract. The painting or sculpture may have begun looking like something easily identifiable; but due to distortions and alterations, it is not any longer.

When you first see the painting, it is most likely from a range. Don't go any closer! Stop there and take a moment to look a the painting, how does it make you feel? If you can not put this into words, that is o.k. After a couple of minutes, move a little closer. Take some time to view the painting from various ranges and angles. When you see it from various viewpoints, it is not uncommon to have different impressions and feelings from an abstract painting.

These color meanings can help you to better comprehend the feeling and message that the artist is attempting to portray if you are looking at a western painting. If it is a piece of Eastern art, then some colors will have different representations (white is the color of death, red of weddings and joy).

You can copy this summary right on your canvas. From here on, you can do two things. You can either fill the negative area with colour that you like or describe the shape that you have actually copied on your canvas with different colours that complement each other.

Abstract Expressionism is a design of painting in which the painter reveals his character through pure and merely spontaneity. This has actually been stated to more of a study of color and brush stroke. One of the most popular artists that used abstract expressionism was Jackson Pollack. He was called an action painter in the world of abstract art. He would drip and put his paint to create his work.
