Charts are important because they are a graphical reflection of tabular data, but they come in different forms and can be set up electronically for any interval - from one day to a full period of quotations of a particular security on the stock exchange. Usually on the charts ups stocks reflect the data in the form of vertical "bars" or "Japanese candlesticks".
