Marmaris is a popular holiday resort in Turkey, located on the Aegean coast. It has a population of 186,959 as of 2011. A small town at the mouth of the Menderes River, Marmaris grew steadily in popularity during the 1930s and 1940s as an escape from Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's newly established Republic of Turkey.

Marmaris airport transfers are available from the airport to neighbourhoods surrounding Marmaris. There are many  companies that operate cars for Dalaman Airport transfers  which can be booked online or in person at the airport.

The main road Odurşun-Ölüdeniz which crosses the whole country will be generally improved in order of standard RCD94, separating urban transport from regional traffic.

By this important highway there are a lot of typical places for tourism such as: Eskibahce - Gökçeada National Park approximately 7 km far from Marmaris Resort , but you can not make the transfer by taxi boat or car.

Marmaris is a famous seaside town and resort, in the South-West of "Turkish Marmaris" with beaches on both sides of the Gulf. The water temperature during summer months averages 24 degrees centigrade; this warm weather allows swimming all year round (even though many find it cold). Crowds gather from July until late October due to high prices for accommodation here, but this slowdown does not last long as peak season is during September and October. Some visitors come during the winter months, not just because of the climate but also due to low waves which are comfortable for swimming; some even believe that Marmaris can have rock-like sand instead of a sand like powdery beach "Marmaris Sand" is famous for its natural stone beaches on both sides of blue Mediterranean water clean and fresh runs through sea between hotels in Manavgat where you will find unique town of Gökova, which was built in the height of 19 century. Kos and Rhodes islands are visible from this direction at times.

This project was started in 2011, and the completed stretch of road runs from Çengelköy to Aricarsi. The section between Karakeçili/Çavuşinlik is finished with a major contract awarded in 2013 (work started 2012)

The main aim of this project is improvement and reconstruction on April-Traffic Area direction towards Fethiye Mountain Chain generally consists only 3 km up until Çavuşinlik is completed. The project will increase capacity of road traffic by allowing vehicles to run at higher speeds, which are also needed for commuters and tourists that come from the Istanbul side since passenger cars won't be passing through on this route. Moreover with development plans in different districts, it means more lifeline between Fethiye Alipağı - Ortantepeliler Province is shown on area maps.

Airport ticket prices Are still very high (around 70 TL at the station before check-in) and some airlines are not yet taking action in reducing them. This is one what you will face when traveling by public transport to Marmaris. The ranks of taxi drivers have also been increasing rapidly within a short period as well! However with money from tourism growth rates this may reflect upon local economy soon enough despite cheaper landing fees. So far, tourism has not contributed much yet in terms of international remittances to Marmaris area and this may remain a challenge unless local issues are remedied significantly as well.
