Existing insurance provider functioned as WDC representatives in receiving applications, releasing policies, and managing the program. WDC charter ended, January 22, 1947. All policies ended, April 1, 1947. WDC assets liquidated by June 30, 1949. WDC stock transferred to the Secretary of the Treasury by Reorganization Plan No. 1 of 1957, effective June 30, 1957, for cancellation after all matches against the WDC had actually been settled.
