Why the United States suddenly encourages learning Chinese? The goal is not simple

On October 21, the US. government released a video that mentioned a program in the country called Key Language.

This enterprise project management means that we encourage American diplomats and more American students to be familiar with foreign languages including learn chinese online, and we should not think that they need to master English, so they do not pay attention to foreign language learning.

What is the purpose? The US made it clear in the video that this passage is——

"In today's national security context, we need to understand how other countries see us and why they see us that way online chinese class. So it's very important for us to speak a foreign language."

The United States also deliberately quoted the meaning of learning Chinese in the video to illustrate the value of mastering a foreign language.

This is just one example of the U.S. government's call this past week to make more efforts to learn Chinese.

Just on October 16, a senior U.S. official published an article in the weekly Newsweek, arguing that more U.S. diplomats and Americans should understand and be familiar with foreign languages.

Why is the US suddenly calling on companies to increase their learning of Chinese and other foreign language students?

Talk about two reasons.

In the context of the Sino-US game, Americans have realized their own shortcomings.

Although English is a universal language, most of us do not understand English, and the media we see are basically Chinese versions.

This is the short board of American diplomacy-you cannot understand the true mentality of the local people in the language of the host country.

Especially in the context of declining relations between the two countries, if American companies can't really understand what our students and the Chinese people think, their foreign policy will hardly be really effective.

Therefore, for them, the purpose of increasing Chinese learning is to better safeguard the interests of the United States.

In order to make it easier for the United States to put pressure on China.

This is what Uncle Mu thinks. The U.S. government calls on diplomats and ordinary people to learn more Chinese as a "not easy" goal.

There is a saying: If you know yourself and the enemy, you will never be imperiled in a hundred battles.

Many American diplomats do not understand Chinese, so pressure on China does not exist and may be more targeted.

Thus, Americans exemplify what it means to learn Chinese and a foreign language. That was decades ago, when many American diplomats learned Russian, Persian and Arabic, giving the US an edge over those countries.

Therefore, although the U.S. government calls on diplomats to learn more Chinese, which is conducive to exchanges between the two countries, the starting point is still a bit strange.
