When I first began seeing a therapist, one of the first things I heard about was self-care. I thought showing up at my therapist’s office twice per week was enough, and I could not have been more wrong. Now my second favorite thing that I do daily is meditation. I used to think it was weird and silly that I had to sit and cross my legs, but that was before I began the practice of yoga about nine years ago. The combination of movement, intention, and breath produces some extraordinary states of consciousness.
