You can still use Real Player to download videos. And trim them, sort of.
I can still download, but won't trim a MPEG-4 anymore unless it's converted to another format, which results in loss of quality. Secondly- SLOW SLOW SLOW. Click to open any video and you'll have the opportunity to take a walk to the kitchen or bathroom while you wait for it to open. Really! WMP or VLC will open the same videos in a split second.
I have a fast, clean running computer, but Real Player is incredibly slow now. If Real Player doesn't fix it, I can't see why anybody will continue to use it.

They have completely destroyed this once VERY good program. I have tried to 'get used to it' and it is a losing proposition. Every new thing I learn about it is more reason to hate it. I'm so sick of companies jumping on bandwagons because they want to take away someone else's profits. There is NO reason for RealPlayer to turn into a photo/video/movie handling system. The worst part: It has made managing your music library the lowest priority. I mean, really! It's at the bottom in of the navigation pane. Has someone lost their purpose in life. Some other idiot politician in a management job that is best left to someone with a brain!
I hope they go absolutely bankrupt. Too bad to lose the jobs of actual working stiffs, but the companies losses should be taken out of the pockets of those corporate idiots.

Clearer video quality (personal point of view)
Truly dislike how the information part/bar covers part of the video each time the video loads.
Causes system and play back to be slow because of resource hog.
No option to shut off the part about completing sign-up for the Realtimes.

None that I can see when compared to other readily available video players.
Monopolizes processor power and RAM unlike anything I've ever seen from a video player. Just launching RealTimes brings all other open applications to a virtual standstill on a Intel Core i5 2.50GHz system, and time from startup to usability is even longer with this new version than the previous one has nearly doubled. There's is no legitimate excuse for this from a player that's been in the game for as long as Real has.
I learned to my disappointment that with every incarnation of the RealPlayer, the software seems to become even more bloated and unwieldy, applying what appears to be the coding equivalent of a ball pean hammer to the comparatively simple task of creating a convenient and usable video player. DivX is able to do it. VCL can do it. So why can't Real? It's not my default player anymore and hasn't been for years. With the download of RealTime, I now remember why.

none.. it is a disc space eater and quality on videos is poor.
install like a virus, the realcloud is a feature that will not come out when you uninstall the program. the staff will ask for complete control of your lap-top/computer from their remote address so they can remove it,, with all your passwords/accounts available to them.. DON'T TRUST THIS PROGRAM I'TS CORRUPT.

Nice for placing it all in one place.
Can not remove the file info bar when displaying pictures. There should a an easy and simple way to do this. When I display pix for view, I want to see all of the picture. Not have part of it covered by some info bar. Plus looking for a way to remove it is close to impossible. If not for that, I would give it 5 stars. But the first thing I tried, failed. THUMBS DOWN.

Real Downloader on the rare times and software where it works Plays FLV files Converter and Trimmer tools.
Virtually everything about it. * No private - wants all your stuff in the cloud, * Constantly asks you to set up an account, when you start it, and everytime a looping video replays (years ago I paid for advanced level Real Player features, but they apparently cancelled that contract unilaterally) * Downloader rarely works, and with only one or two browsers at that. * Interface is totally confusing.
Every time it starts, I have the impression that I am being conned, lied to and spied on. Real Player used to be a good, useful program. Not any more!

Move "Converter" to the CONS list! It says I have to pay $5 a month to use it. That's not the one-time lifetime payment agreement we had. Converting to some formats (e.g., MP4) requires that you log in, which means complete the Cloud setup and agree to store your stuff there. The converter will run anyway, just not successfully. So Real REALLY stinks at just about every turn, from no longer offering a secure, private product that works, to not explaining fully what they'd LIKE you to do, what they REQUIRE you to do, and the honest implications and workings of it all. Their Help form barely works, too -- constantly freezing up, and "suggesting" help articles as you type. When you submit it, it suggests yet more articles first . and if you read an article, afterward you don't get the list of other articles, you get the form back . with the data entry again broken and your list selections gone. What, did REAL fire everybody and replace their staff with eighth graders?

You've just added icons to the item lists. I DON'T WANT THEM! It's the one feature that annoyed me so much with Windows Media Player that I found a program that didn't have them. At least if you let users uncheck them so they're not taking up valuable screen space! Also, I can't see how all these extra automatic video building projects are necessary.
I don't even care about how good this program is now. You ruined it. And if I can't find a player without those stupid album covers I may as well just use WMP.

Crashes way too much Every time it crashes you have to re edit any clip info you changed.
Should be renamed Realplayer D.A.N.I.C.A.: Does Anybody Notice I Crash Alot!! I have used the original realplayer with no problems. If you want a player that works look for a "pre-Cloud" version and don't upgrade it to cloud.

Has nice interface similar to Realplayer for windows, allows shared viewing of content with internet connection.
Requires you to have an internet connection to view movies, even if they have been downloaded. IE: If you have a library of content but no internet connection, even temporarily you have to search for the content manually, internet bandwidth is used no matter if content is stored locally or if it is in the cloud and keeps trying to add everything to the cloud that it finds. Legacy codecs have been abandoned so if you have files in .IVR, .RV or .RAM they are no longer viewable on new player, convert to a standard .mp4 or m4v before upgrading to realplayer cloud. Realplayer is no longer supporting. Period! I had home movies that I had in RV format because it was a nice interface, but after this I will NOT TRUST REAL again. Their lack of support or guidance when they stop supporting their proprietary codecs has me uninstalling their player as soon as I can get the rest of any real content converted then I'm trashing it.
Their once very useful player for Windows has been given a lobotomy and now has to call home to mama as it performs every action, there are very few good features, most are simply a pain. Prior version codecs that were created by Realplayer are no longer supported without any real warning prior to them saying "install me" and no support to help convert the old files to a new format. They try to push cloud storage for all files through automatic processes. Lacking ability to create playlists or libraries without internet connection, creating a gateway for hacking.
