Daimler had to keep a "protective hand" in the truck unit after taking off.

German automaker Daimler aims to keep a "defensive hand" for Daimler Trucks, the world's largest manufacturer of trucks and buses, after a planned spin-off, Chief Executive Ola Källenius told Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung (FAS). )

Daimler said on slotxo Wednesday it plans to split away from Daimler Truck as it seeks to increase its attractiveness to investors as its electric and luxury vehicle business focused. The exact percentage cannot be determined yet. But at the same time, we will cooperate with Daimler Trucks through our shareholding, ”Källenius said in an interview with FAS published online Saturday.

If something happens in a market that's not in the interests of Daimler Trucks, we're there," said Källenius, "but the company will operate independently. We won't interfere with operations through a supervisory board. The two businesses will continue to collaborate. For example, the car business,

if necessary, will have access to truckmaker's fuel cell technology, which, in turn, will be able to use automaker's battery technology, Källenius said.He expects the Daimler Trucks to be in the German blue chip DAX index, as well as the automaker.I think there is a huge chance that we will get two DAX companies in Stuttgart," he said.
