The Renault KIGER is being seen as this potential product in the B-SUV category that may just change the course of the SUV category in the country. The category has registered an impressive growth to such an extent that it is now challenging the dominance of the traditional old favourites, the hatchback. However, the flood of “clone” products seems to be growing strong too.

A result of a joint effort between the Indian and French design studios, the Renault KIGER is expected to buck this trend of launching a “clone” product. The car is being seen as a potential winner even before its launch. This would be the fourth car from Renault that may emerge as a winner after DUSTER, KWID, and the TRIBER.

Built on the same CMFA+ platform as the TRIBER, the KIGER is seen as a game-changer in the industry due to its refreshing design, amazing features, and a host of category first offerings. Like the KWID and the TRIBER, the Renault KIGER would be the third car from Renault which will be first launched in India followed by the rest of the world.

If we go by the show car that was launched recently, then the Renault KIGER is likely to be stunning when it comes to its looks. It is also expected to have an all-new Petrol Turbo engine under its hood which will make it not only powerful but also efficient.

On the outside, the car is likely to sport a modern and masculine look. It is also expected to offer urban modernity with outdoor capability. On the inside, the Renault KIGER is likely to offer spacious and ergonomic seating with a host of best-in-class and best-in-industry features. While Renault has confirmed that the actual KIGER will have 80% similarity with the show car, it has smartly kept the details of the balance “20%” under wraps.

However, one thing is for sure, the way the KWID and TRIBER have created a disruption in the entry-level and the 7-seater categories respectively, the Renault KIGER is likely to repeat the same feat in the B-SUV segment. It would be interesting to see how the incumbents will react to the Renault KIGER now!
