Kabasura Kudineer: Health Benefits, Ingredients, Preparation, and Side Effects Of This Herbal Formulation

In Siddha physiology, ‘Kaba’ or ‘Kabam’ is one of the three physiological principles in our body (Vatham, Pitham, Kabam). These three elements need to be in equilibrium to ensure one’s physical and mental well-being. If there is any imbalance, it will result in diseases. If there is excessive ‘Kabam’, it gives rise to symptoms caused by respiratory tract diseases. Kabasura Kudineer (kab-kaba dosha, suram-fevar, kudineer -drinking water) means ‘boiled herbal water that cures fever.

According to the Siddha medical system, kaba in the human body is in the upper region or lung area. During the grinding, chant suitable mantras to get more power into the medicine.

After grinding them into a powder, add a glass of water( 200 ml) to one teaspoon of the powder. Boil it on a very low flame until the concoction reduces to 75 - 50 ml. Filter it and take 50ml (adults) or 15 ml (children) on an empty stomach. An hour later, eat breakfast. For children under 5 years, get advice from a Siddha doctor.

This herbal tea is very bitter in taste, so you can mix some honey which makes it more effective. This herbal tea can be consumed three times a week.
