Dice or polyhedrons (die for singular) are small objects used as social games and gambling tools. The most traditional die among dice is a cube with one to six small dots or spots on each side of the die. The spots or dots are established in conventionalized designs, such as the dots are arranged, so they always sum up to seven, like three and four, one and six, two and five. A different variety of dice is a type of spinning top known as teetotums.

It was not the sixteenth century in which dice games dominated numerical judgment by Italians Galileo and Girolamo Cardano, and the theories of probability and randomness were considered. Until then, the prevailing belief had been that dice, and related articles befell the direction they did due to the complicated procedure of gods or spiritual energies.
