The Xim4 adapter is the latest controller management system used by many top gamers today. So what is a Xim4 adapter and how to use it? We’ll discuss just that and more in this article.

What is a Xim4 adapter?

The Xim4 adapter is a unit that uses the Xim Apex technology for an advanced gaming experience. The Xim4 adapter along with its predecessors is recognized as CIA or Console-Input-Adapters. This adapter or unit is in charge of converting your traditional keyboard and PC mouse to a controller that you normally use over a gaming console like Xbox.

Conversion is attached through a special USB stick which is equipped with smart translation technology that works to interpret FPS’s aiming mechanics of PC units. The device then transfers the information to the PC through an application. With the application, you can then manage the settings of your mouse, keyboard along with your controller. Furthermore, this is not limited to PC or computer devices only – you can also use this on other gadgets and devices such as gamepads, smartphones, tablets, and many other devices. This has been a great feature that gamers are holding on to because it provides them with diversity and versatility out of their usual keyboard and mouse that is used for gaming. Unfortunately, using this device isn’t simply just a ‘plug-and-play operation. You will need to be aware of a few more things in its setup.

Setting up the Xim4 adapter

For you to start using the Xim4 adapter with your preferred controller, you need to perform a series of basic operations and setting management. First is to make sure that all the necessary devices are complete – namely, the PC keyboard and mouse, the controller which you will be using, a USB cable to connect your devices to the hub, and of course your PC. After all the required devices are confirmed, you may start plugging the keyboard to the right end of the hub. Then proceed with connecting the mouse to the second USB port in the hub, followed by the controller on the last slot on the USB hub of the Xim4 adapter.

Switch on the controller and plug the adapter into the Xim Apex USB stick that comes with the package. As soon as the adapter is connected to the USB stick, there will be flashing lights on the device to indicate the reading operation of the connected devices.

Open the Xim Apex manager on your pc and make sure that the firmware is updated and ready to be used. After this, click the central button of the Xim Apex USB to match with the application on your PC or device. A white flash will indicate the reading process and a yellow flash will indicate success in reading the devices. After this, you’re ready to use your controller on your PC or device.

At times you will also need to make sure that your mouse is using recommended settings for the optimum gaming experience. Usually, the recommended settings can be found online by looking up the model and brand of your particular mouse.
