The Memorial Art Gallery presents a panorama of the world's art from over 5,000 years, from the relics of antiquity to works in the vanguard of contemporary movements. With the recent completion of Centennial Sculpture Park, the Gallery’s 14-acre campus is a spectacular urban space that is a destination for visitors alike. The Gallery’s permanent collection of more than 12,000 objects has been called the best balanced in the state. In addition to its collection, the Gallery offers a year-round schedule of temporary exhibitions, lectures, concerts, tours, and family activities. Students of all ages, including college students and those who consider themselves lifelong learners, can arrange for a tour of the Memorial Art Gallery collections, or a current exhibition on view. The Memorial Art Gallery's Creative Workshop hosts quarterly free Open Houses, which offer prospective students an opportunity to meet Creative Workshop teaching artists and try out the art forms available at this community art school.

The AK360 project – an ambitious campus development project for the Knox Art Gallery – will double the number of masterworks the museum can display and will also provide state-of-the-art space for presenting special exhibitions. The project will enhance the visitor experience at the museum, creating more space for education, dining, and social activities, while better integrating the campus into the landscape.
