Let Discuss About Crime Against Men in India

Gender equality does not involve only women but men too. The issue of crime against men in India largely remains unsupported and unreported. Not so surprising but most of the times men refuse to come up about it. Even the Indian laws are not so supportive regarding the crime against men.

Everyone has raised voice against the freedom and equality of women but why forget that men can be victims too! Sadly, Indian Legislation has failed to accept that men can be victims of sexual violence and assault.

TYPES OF CRIME AGAINST MEN

1. Domestic Violence- people fight for the wrong done to women and the same goes neglected for men. A number of domestic violence keep happening to a man around us but we don't realize it.

2. False dowry cases- women started misusing the law in their favor. They register false dowry cases to threaten her husband and his family and get benefits from her marital life. The saddest part there is no law where men can prove their innocence.

3. False rape and other charges- there are women who report false rape cases intending to take revenge or any such grudges, etc. and thus many innocent men have to face punishment for things they did not do

A man suffers in silence because of many reasons:

1. Family Pressure- the most important reason is family pressure. Our Indian society doesn't allow men to cry. There is an image of strong manhood.

2. Fear of fake cases– Men feel that revealing the violence can cause unnecessary nuisance and they do not want to face the legal consequences because of the gender-biased law in our Constitution. They feel that they have to leave their families and they don’t want to lose custody of their children.

3. Denial– Most people feel that domestic violence can only happen to a woman. And they live in denial when they get to know that man can also be a victim of domestic violence. So, basically, people never really want to talk about it.

As the crime against men results in Suicide, Depression, Divorce

Conclusion
Earlier men were seen as protectors of their family but nowadays both men and women are equally working, raising, and managing their homes with equal contribution to their incomes.
It’s high time that law should be implemented on crime against men so that they should be gender equality, Equality is for all, and each and everyone should get it. Everyone has the right to live their life in dignity and break such stereotypes.
