When you are looking to buy your first-ever D&D dice set because you are new to the game and have never rolled a dice before, you need to consider some of the things before buying the dice sets. Or maybe you are an expert with different campaigns under your belt, and your dice bags may also be damaged at the closure, but you still want to add another set to your collection. Or maybe, you are somewhere between the two extremes to start an adventure of a new character and want to start from the very beginning. Whatever understanding and skill level you have with playing dices or the reasons for buying a Dungeons and Dragons dice set, there are a few things you need to consider when choosing an appropriate acrylic dice set–
Your D&D character
When buying a set of D&D dice, the first thing to consider is the kind of character you will be playing and why it matters the most for your games. The reason is your dices are needs to be visible, tactile, and an integral part of the game, and if they get tied up visually or conceptually with your character, then you can actually add the relevant atmosphere in the whole game with your imaginative experience.
However, if you are going to play shadowy, which is morally and ambiguous rogue, it makes sense to use a bright yellow with a green dice set. In the same way, if you will be running a wizard, a deep blue dice set with golden numbers can withdraw the interest with the magic and mystery you want for your character. While green dice can be a good choice when going with druid or ranger, purple will stand out for the wizard, and the fighter – metallic, black, or gray dice will work best.
Size
You might think that all the dice sets come with one standard size, but they actually don’t, and the thing is true, 16mm dices are the most common, and you will also find the different sizes for the dices. But there are other options to choose from the wider range that includes – 16mm, 19mm, 25mm, and more. The size you need to choose will depend on the character, how comfortable you handle and roll the dice sets, and how good your eyesight is.
Material
Most D&D dice sets are made from plastic, and it is optimal since it makes them affordable yet durable, which are available in a variety of colors and style options. However, there are some dices made of stone, metal, wood, and other materials - these often carry a pretty hefty price tag, so you need to consider your budget.
Readability
Not all D100 Dice materials are created equally when it comes to their readability - some of them have elaborated fonts with additional decorative graphical elements that make it entirely challenging for anyone to read the results. Choosing the set of dices you like is perfectly fine, but you need to consider that those dices should fit your needs or other people can see and read your roll.
