For those who want to hit hard and dish out some truly ruinous critical successes in D&D, the Champion class for Fighters is the way to go.
The Fighter class in Dungeons & Dragon 5e is one of the most protean martial classes in the game. Multiple feathers allow Fighters to fill a ton of different party places. Indeed the more straightforward feathers, similar as Champion, still give further complexity to how they compare to other martial classes. While Champion Fighters are similar to Heathens, they are not fairly as simple to make.

Champion Fighter characters tend to gravitate towards being massive damage dealers, much like a Barbarian or a Monk. The difference comes with where Champion Fighters get their high damage from. While Monks and Heathens calculate on their capability scores, Champion Fighters concentrate on making their critical successes far more ruinous. While high Strength will still fluently help, there are multitudinous further options for players when erecting a Champion Fighter.
While the capability scores in D&D are not the core of the Champion Fighter's power, Strength and Dexterity still end up being incredibly important for the class's playstyle. Still, players are not tied to prioritizing both capability scores. Still, they can attack with their Dexterity rather of their Strength, If players use munitions with the Finesse particularity. That being said, if players want to maximize the damage they do, they'll presumably want to look towards two-handed munitions with high damage bones that concentrate on Strength.
