ROCKWOOL FLEXI(r) Insulation has been developed as an acoustic multi-purpose, dual-purpose or thermal mineral wool insulation, with an innovative flexible edge along one side. The Rockwool Flexi Insulation Slab 50mm slab is manufactured using a patented, flexible edge that ensures the perfect fit within the insulation, and the framework.
The insulation can be installed between fresh wood. It expands into the larger space when the timber is dried out and shrinks. Other types of insulation can commonly be affected by displacement, which can result in the formation of cold spots, or worse acoustics. and acoustic quality as and being classified as A1 non-combustible for fire resistance.
ROCKWOOL FLEXI(r) has been proven to be simple to install and has maximum efficiency. It is suitable for use in all areas of the home, for pitched roof rafters, frame-less external walls, partitions inside, intermediate floors, separating walls and floors, and wooden suspended floor.

Description
This is a multi-use thermal, acoustic, as well as fire insulation product featuring the only flexible edge that runs along one side. The patented flexible edge ensures that the ideal fit is maintained between the product and its supportive frame for easy installation and optimal effectiveness. FLEXI(r) is suitable for use between frames on walls, partitions, floors and roofs, and without the need to cut or disposal. Made from renewable volcanic rock it is extremely durable to fire, and greatly reduces carbon emissions of buildings.
Applications
It can be utilized for a broad range of uses, such as the use of fire and acoustic insulation in partitions, walls and floors and for thermal insulation for suspended floors, walls and roofs.
Performance
-Thermal
This will be available with a variety of widths and thicknesses, with thermal conductivity of 0.038 W/mK, and 0.035 W/mK at 140mm thicknesses or more.
-Fire classification
ROCKWOOL FLEXI(r) achieves an effect on fire classification A1 as defined in EN13501-1.
Thermal applications for timber frame walls
The additional thermal advantages offered with the use of high-performance (HP) breathing membranes (BM) and the vapor control layers (VCL) over standard membranes are outlined below.
-Effective thermal resistance (R-values) comparisons used for exterior cavities can be described as follows:
a. Standard BM =0.18m2K/W: or
b. Tyvek Reflex BM = 0.540m2K/W
c. Protect Thermo TF200 = 0.77m2K/W
In-depth thermal resistance (R-values) evaluations for service voids are as these:
a. Standard VCL =0.18m2K/W: orb. DuPont AirGuard VCL = 0.680m2K/W
c. Guard VC Foil = 0.78m2K/W
