Children aren’t only small adults, and their eye problems either simple or complicated need a unique method of treatment. In Pediatric Eye Specialists, we aim to provide the best surgical and medical care within a serene environment and understanding. In partnership together with patients, their family members, and the referrer doctor, our doctors and staff work hard to ensure satisfaction for everyone and optimum vision health for your child.
The only pediatric ophthalmologist who is fellowship trained with us, we have a specialization in treating children’s eye disorders, which include among other things amblyopia (lazy eye) as well as the strabismus (crossed eye) as well as ptosis of the lid (droopy eyelid) nasal lacrimal duct obstruction, eye infection as well as other medical conditions in the eyes.
Dr. Edward A. Peterson is board certified in ophthalmology with a subspecialty in pediatric ophthalmology. Dr. Rachel Brown completed a residency in pediatrics after optometry training. Both doctors are specially trained to address the specific needs of medical and surgical pediatric patients.

What is the length of an average pediatric eye exam?
The examination of the eyes of children can be a time-consuming procedure due to the complexity of the eyes and the various treatments offered. If your child needs dilation during the exam, be prepared to sit for up to three hours for an examination. The majority of children with dark eyes require longer time dilation than kids who have light eyes. Dilation isn’t dangerous and will reverse in a matter of days or two.
