After talking to hundreds of students who passed their NCEES FE exam in 2021, I noticed that they all focused on this one tip that I'm about to share with you!

Tip 1: Understand the concepts, I think this is the most important tip

If you know the concepts, you will pass but if you don’t understand the concepts, you will have higher chances of failing your exam.

Let me give you an example, here we have this problem (add picture of the problem) that we solved during the LIVE on Thursday. If you missed it, sign up here and we will send you the recording. So in this question, we need to find the 90% confidence interval, t or z distribution but you need to know which one to use, the difference between them.

If you don't know the concepts, you have a 50% chance of getting right or getting wrong during the exam. know the concepts makes the difference between failing and passing the FE.

Don’t focus on just grabbing the equation and plug in the numbers, take a second and understand why you’re using that equation, is there another equation you could use? Is there another way of solving the problem? all these questions would lead to understanding the problems better and grasp the concepts, feel confident and pass your FE exam.

See the FE exam tests on the foundation of engineering, it’s the fundamental engineering, sure you would get some hard problems, but when you’re preparing for this exam, you don’t prepare for those difficult problems, you gotta focus on getting the easy problems down, and this easy problems test your foundation in engineering, so if you don't know the concepts, you don't know the basics of engineering, if you don't have a good foundation, you will struggle passing the FE exam and also the PE.



We had a student who failed the FE 8 times and he enrolled in our course, he passed his FE and two months later he passed his PE, the new format, CBT, on his first try, using our courses both exams, why? because he knows the concepts really well. I am telling you guys if you want to pass your FE exam in 2022, you gotta make sure you know your concepts really well! That’s it! knowing your concepts nothing will stop you from passing your FE, your pe and excelling in your career as an engineer.

This is why sometimes i discouraged students from using books, because a lot of times books, don’t explain the concepts behind the problems, they don’t explain why certain equation was used, they just use the equation and plug it and you just focus on that, so a lot of times you miss out on important concepts. Also a lot of the FE Exam questions, you think it is straightforward but they add things to throw off to make sure that you know what you’re doing and you know the concepts, so if you don't know your concepts, you will miss those questions.
