Gustavo Petro, Winner of the Historic Pact: Lights and Shadows

The candidate Gustavo Petro confirmed on Sunday the favoritism that the polls had been highlighting for weeks.

(Positions of those who are candidates (Positions of candidates Historic Pact to Pensions and Inflation).

The victory in the Historic Pact coalition was won by the former mayor of Bogota as well as the former senator of Republic. He was officially a candidate for Presidency of the Republic, which is an ambition he hopes to be able to hold for the third time.

He's the most representative persona in the Colombian left and a strong potential presidential candidate despite his controversial opinions and proposals on many areas, including the economic.

http://www.secretariasenado.gov.co/senadores/53-senadores-2018-2022... has expressed his intention to make a readjustment to the pension system by the establishment of a public administrator for pension funds that will operate an "mixed and complementary system" in conjunction with private fund.

https://www.elespectador.com/tags/gustavo-petro/ has stated that in Colombia "we don't have pensions, we have banks have a profit system," so many claim that he will eliminate the chances of reaching the Presidency. https://nuso.org/articulo/caso-gustavo-petro-flagrant-system-error/ stated that although he would not eliminate them, he would seek reforms in pensions to guarantee the minimum retirement age for Colombians. Petro also said that there is no need to increase the age of retirement.

Another controversial issue is that he has repeatedly stated that he would stop extraction of oil the moment the day he assumes office as president, which has caused a lot of uncertainty among investors as well as the general market.

gustavo petro estimate that Petro’s proposal to stop exploration for oil in Colombia could result in a bill around $4.3 billion.

I also suggest to establish an anti oil front in the region as well as the world. This will help move the economy away form fossil fuels. In this regard I would like to invite Gabriel Boric (the new Chilean president) and LuizInacio Lula da Silva (the Brazilian LuizInacio Lula da Silva) as well as other.

Petro claimed that he had spoken to Pedro Sanchez, Spain's Prime Minister, about his plan.

His views on health have been controversial because he is insistent on ending EPS and replacing the model with a preventive care model that "guarantees individuals' rights, not the bankers' profit".

gustavo petro has also questioned the legitimacy of the Banco de la Republica and said he'd make a reform when he becomes President.

Petro said that the Bank Board of Directors belongs to the Democratic Center. Accordingly, the candidate at the center of a discussion stated "What do we really want? An independently run Bank of the Republic (...) It seems to me essential that the Board of Directors is a part of the Society."

Invamer says that Petro is the main vote intention in the presidential elections.

Also controversial was his idea to issue cash to fund the government's expenses.

Petro's plans concentrate on a sustainable economy which doesn't rely on fossil fuels.

He also stated that he will implement tax reforms to end exemptions and transform the idea of a minimum wage into a wage that is dependent on capital and income.
