It is August now, and that means school is just around the corner. It is easy to feel like summer is winding down and that autumn is fast-approaching. While this is true on some level, we are still very much in the middle of the Dog Days of Summer - the longest, hottest days of the year. In many parts of the United States, August is the hottest month of the year; in the Southwest, temperatures frequently rise past the 100-degree mark. These injuries can be serious if they are not treated, which is why it may be a good idea to keep the following tips in mind any time you are out in the heat and sun this summer.Make sure to apply sunscreen fifteen minutes before you go outside, and reapply it frequently.
