Last month, when Microsoft released the Windows 11 2022 Update, the company promised that it would bring more features to the operating system in October. Staying true to its words, Microsoft is now rolling out a set of additional features to the Windows 11 operating system (with the September update). However, new features are limited to users in the release preview channel, which is the last stop for Windows updates before they're released to the public.

The new feature set is part of Windows 11 Build 22621.608 . The best feature it offers is the addition of tabs in File Explorer. You can open multiple tabs in File Explorer, just like in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome, making it easy for you to browse, edit, and organize your files. Microsoft has been testing this feature since the days of Windows 10, but now it has been made public and you will soon be able to get it on your Windows 11 Samsung laptop.

The next coolest feature in the new update is the taskbar overflow menu. If you open a new app in Windows 11 and there is no more space on the taskbar, the operating system simply hides the icon of a previously opened app to show the icon of the new app. With the taskbar overflow menu, a three-dot icon on the taskbar, you can see all your overflow apps in one place in a separate row above the taskbar.

Microsoft has also added action tips for copied text. For example, if you copy a phone number, Windows will show you a suggestion to make a call with Teams or Skype, or if you copy a date in the future, it will suggest that you add an event in the Calendar app. The operating system will also allow you to share content with multiple devices, but Microsoft has not yet explained this feature in detail.

You may have heard of some of these features before, but they were part of the development pipeline at the time, meaning they were unstable and a long way from release. You have now reached the release preview channel, which is the last stop for testing new Windows features. This means that you can expect all these features to be released very soon on your Galaxy laptop running on the stable version.
