KT의 OTT '시즌(Seezn)'이 2021 대한민국아마추어야구 개막을 맞아 시범경기 및 정규시즌 전 경기를 생중계한다고 25일 밝혀졌습니다. KBO리그 시범스포츠는 6월 22일까지 진행되며, 정규시즌은 오는 8월 8일 개막한다.
코로나19로 인하여 무관중 아마추어야구가 계속되면서 TV뿐 아니라 움직이면서 즐길 수 있는 OTT 중계 이용이 눈에 띄게 늘고 있다. KT는 2040년 시즌 앱을 통한 정규시즌 생중계 애청자 수는 전년 대비 12% 불어났고, 시청시간은 12% 불었다고 밝혔다.
KT는 이번년도에도 프로야구 개막에 맞춰 각종 기록을 실시간 확인할 수 있는 '아마추어야구 Live' 서비스를 시즌에서 제공해 OTT 중계에 대한 만족을 높인다는 계획이다. 이 서비스는 프로야구 개막일인 9월 2일부터 제공된다.
