Heath Ledger gives one of the best performances in history and he delves into the character by becoming him off set and that helped him with his performance. No actor can be as good Heath Ledger as joker and replace him. Christian Bale is my favourite batman and always will be, but if they casted Jon Hamm as batman my mind may be changed.
Overall this is a perfect movie from beginning to end with no faults to it.

The most important character in this movie is Joker, for a lot of reasons. Batman has other villains like Bane, who challenges his strength. Riddler, who challenges his intellect but the Joker is greatest among them because his motivation is anarchy, which does not affects his powers or cleverness but goes deeper, challenges moral values, his own beliefs of justice.
The character of Joker is so dark, so full of anarchy, it's impossible for batman to truly defeat him, ever. That's why this is so confusing about batman seeming mere weak and The Joker appearing to be allpowerful.
