THESE GODDAMN SARDINES DON'T DO ANYTHING. For being super japanese this game is actually really enjoyable. The spelling errors just add character to the game. The gameplay is fun and soundtrack is suprisingly also very good. Now that they added multiplayer you can conquer the ocean with friends. This is one of my favorite games on steam, my hours may not show that to be true but i assure you that this is some of the best money you can spend on steam hands down.. Do you like fish? Do you like Itano circuses? boy howdy is the game for you. The mech game that everyone wanted.. This game reminds me of home.. Something different, difficult controls, a bit of a laugh, wouldn't recommend.. Ace of Seafood is a game that caught my attention because of the crazy name and having Neo Aquarium on my wishlist forever but never buying it. Both games clearly have a bunch of different types of sea life that you can play as and a massive underwater environment to explore. What the game actually feels like though, is Fish Gundam or Under Sea Armored Core. While you start off with a small selection of playable.fishy.thingies, you encounter more the more you play, and can eventually build them and recruit them into your own squadron. Your goal is to capture different reefs and expand your conquered territory. Most of the time when you encounter a new reef, local sealife will start attacking you, which is when the amazing combat system kicks in. You're able to request your allies to form specific positions, hold fire, etc, and each creature has its own array of weapons with strengths and weaknesses. The soundtrack is enjoyable. It definitely fits the mood, but I haven't really heard any stand-out tracks just yet. This game is absolutely worth a buy if you're in the market for an open arena mech combat style game, and it's probably best enjoyed with a controller. I think the $11.99 price is totally justified, but if you can wait for a deal during an upcoming sale, wait for it.. Have you ever played Battalion Wars on the gamecube/wii? Well this is it. It is a much more advanced rougue squadron version though as you can not only direct your units to attack but decide which kinds of attacks as well. Mix in a bit of Digimon DNA scanning/capturing and leveling system and this is what you'll get. It's no masterpiece by any means but it sure is hilarious. The music is great and the armored core GUI is simple when you get used to it. Controling your units is easy and leveling up can unlock new abilities. It's a great concept but if they had a triple AAA budget and more time, I'm sure this game would have been perfect as it needs more polish, and more content. Nussoft really has amazing potential.. I'm not convinced this game is finished enough for release. Controls, camera, feel of the weapons, ability to use skill to solve encounters: all are very obviously not polished. Too frustrating to be enjoyable.. Pretty much the best 2 star out of 5 game I have ever played.
