All issues can be alleviated by using a Low-cost body with a bronze disc stem rubber-lined butterfly valve

As members of the throttling valve family, the butterfly valve, or rather the different types of valves generally known as butterfly valves, will be examined here. Butterfly-type valves are completely capable of flow control, which will also be explained. However, even a cursory inspection of valve installations will reveal that the vast majority of butterfly valves are exclusively utilized as block valves. It is quite evident that certain butterfly valves are more adapted for throttling over others, while some are probably more suited for severe duty than others. It just so happens that the less costly valves are among those that are unsuitable for throttling services.

Rubber-lined butterfly valves

To begin at the low end, a typical rubber-lined valve is composed of cast iron or another relatively low-cost body material, with a bronze disc, steel or stainless steel stem, and a rubber lining. The lining is essential to the overall operation of the valve. The covering is a single piece that shuts against the disc and the flanges. This is another concept. The flanges against which the valve mates are utilized to hold the lining in place so that the disc may seal more securely against it. As a result of this help, the liner seals against the end flanges without the need for the standard gaskets required by every other flange set. Oddly, using different gaskets on a rubber-covered butterfly valve leads the flanges to leak more than using no gaskets. This odd circumstance has been demonstrated time and again, much to the astonishment of those who have never seen it before.
The most fundamental butterfly valve designs are concentratic or strong butterfly valves. The stem is placed in the center of the valve disc, which is centered in the pipe bore with this type of valve. During the 90-degree rotation, the disc will make the first contact with the seat. Dutco tenants offer a full variety of butterfly valve sizes ranging from 50 mm to 2000 mm. This butterfly valve series is ideal for Water applications.
