Are You Prepared to Trust? - Teachings from This Moment Is Your Miracle By: David Hoffmeister

Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are a large amount of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles available, but there should be a thing that you've hooked into, or caught onto? Something that triggered a transformation or a major healing. So, what was it?”

“Trust,” I said.

Consider your daily life as it is apparently nowadays with regards to the story. Just how do we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I think my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who is my source?” So whenever we talk about the final stage to the awakening being pure trust, it's simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and rely upon all of these made-up concepts, beliefs and ideas in the world. It's kind of like creating a big house of cards, stacking on one card following the other. A good wind comes along and poof, it's only blown over. It can't even stand only a little gust of wind. It's so frail. It's so temporary. It's so transitory; It had been this sense of placing rely upon the Spirit and withdrawing rely upon anything else; dozens of things that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we rely upon those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy? It really comes down seriously to the essence of who is my cousin? Could it be Spirit or matter? Could it be Spirit or form? Furthermore how most of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried that certain? So you are asking the question, “If someone dies or is apparently dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where this is heading is always to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening will show you is that everything is mental and that everything is just a hallucination.acim

This really is a world of ideas and what we call manifest reality, isn't reality at all. There's no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to build his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the text between thought and form. His lessons start out with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I have given everything I see all this is it has for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way as much as number 4, “These thoughts don't mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He's speaking about thoughts. First He's speaking about perception, then about our thoughts, then He comes back with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 ... perception, perception, perception, perception, perception ... and then number 10, “My thoughts don't mean anything.” You can see he's wanting to melt everything together and show the final veil or stage of awakening, which is trust.

The Holy Spirit uses time and energy to teach us there's no such thing as time, to take us back to that timeless moment that is the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to teach us that they are all illusions and that they are all equally meaningless. That's precisely the approach to operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to work with the mind to loosen the attachments from the investment in all sorts of things. What type of things can you purchase, in this world.
