AWA has really good graphics and a cool modern military art style, there's a good amount of stages, the boss fights are really interesting and fun. Solid gameplay, hardcore challenge.. AWA is a basic arcadey shmup with occasional mild bullet hell. Unfortunately, it doesn't really do anything to warrent your attention over the many other options. Between levels, you can spend funds to buy powerups (which there are more than enough of during levels), bombs and drones, or repair the one hit your ship can take Drones both add firepower and will take a hit for you, which is great, until you collide with an enemy you couldn't see against the background, and promptly die. My main issue with the game is there's no invulnerability after a hit. And since the reason you got hit was probably a mess of bullets, you can die rather suddenly. There is some other weirdness, like being able to attack bosses before they're on screen, and not having a clear hitbox, but nothing major. Overall, it's an alright shmup, with some possible frustrations, but there are heaps of good shmups out there, so I can't recommend you spend your money here.. Very buggy, couldnt progress past 2nd level because the game would lock up. Upon defeating the boss in level 2, it would completely freeze at the screen that shows how many enemies you killed. I had to tab out and back into the game to get the option to exit. When i restarted the game a selected a different aircraft my movement keys would not respond.i dont feel like messing with it anymore.. A good, but average game. I know similar flash games that are more enjoyable to play, even if some bonuses makes this game different.. GAME HAS LOTS OF GLITCHES. DONT BUY.
