Blizzard have confirmed Diablo 4 is still getting

Director for games Joe Shely explains during a recent roundtable conversation that reimagining sets in a manner which is suitable for Diablo 4 properly wouldn't be possible for launch early next year D2R Items. However, they are considering the possibility of incorporating them into it's live services.

"As we've been developing the game, it seemed that we could develop sets in a unique approach to the ones we've observed in Diablo 3. We needed more time to integrate sets in the game in an approach that works well with the rest of Diablo 4, so you will not see any sets until the launch into the game." Shely explains. "We consider sets to be very cool and want to create them in a way that is right - and that's what we're looking in the future for our live-stream service."

"There's a staff legendary in the demo that turns the spell's fireball spell into a triple fireball spell," an ex game designer Luis Barriga told Polygon(opens in new tab) back in the year 2019. "The different is that, as you can imagine the set you have in live Diablo 3 gives you bonuses more in the thousands. I'm thinking we're developing the game to be a little bit more constrained to avoid being caught in that expanding performance curve."

If you're not familiar the term, Set Items are basically strong pieces of equipment that can provide higher power when put together. They're "set" since they're always offering the same bonuses, andbecause, well, they come as part of the same set. They first came into play during Diablo 2, though it was in Diablo 3 that they began to become the most dominant. It remains to be seen how they'll impact their impact on the Diablo 4 meta should they be released cheap diablo 2 resurrected items, but we have no doubt that their influence on the Sanctuary's unfurling fashion scene will be greatly felt.
