Last week, our founders Martin and Michael flew to Zimbabwe to attend the InterCannAlliance (ICA) Cannabis and Hemp Symposium, a meeting of important figures within the global cannabis industry.

Among the topics of discussion across the event was industry regulation, lab testing and the socio-economic impact of cannabis cultivation in Africa. As the cannabis industry grows, these issues will become increasingly important to companies like Body and Mind Botanicals. Organic cbd buds and leaves

We also met with the ICA, who asked us to take over one of their Nine Foundational Pillars of the Cannabis Market, ‘Extraction and Processing Best Practices’. We pride ourselves on being hands on with every stage from seed selection to making our oil and tea, so it is an honour to be recognised by the ICA in this category. As one of the nine pillars, we will offer support on extraction and processing within the industry and speak at other global ICA Symposiums.

While we were in Zimbabwe, we also checked out our new farm and met with the Minister of Home Affairs to begin the process of obtaining our license to grow our plant in the country.

Our new farm is twenty hectares and could grant us three crops per year, meaning more tea, more oil and more exciting new products in the near future. The Minister liked our tea so much that he even took some for the President! Whole foods tea peppermint

Martin and Michael in FieldOverall, the trip was a huge success and we’re excited to establish Body and Mind Botanicals as an international presence in the cannabis industry. You’ll find us at the BBC Good Food Show on June 13th-16th, so come down and try some of our delicious and relaxing tea.
