Can Backlogs Impact Planning of Study Abroad?

If anybody is not appealing to study abroad due to backlogs, it’s time to come out of the perception. Many international universities in top nations such as Canada, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, the US, and the UK don’t care about backlogs. These universities don’t reject applicants who have backlogs. Only the applicants need to clear the backlogs before the beginning of their course session.

Let’s Explain Backlogs:
Backlogs mean if a student can’t clear any exam the first time. There can be various reasons for backlogs like inadequate preparation, can’t able to appear in the exams, and many more. For getting a chance to study in famous overseas universities, applicants need not have any backlogs.

If any student can’t appear in the exams, make sure whether your organization has marked you absent or given a ‘zero’ against the subject. If they marked you absent, then it is not a backlog. But if you have received a ‘zero,’ then it is considered as a backlog.

Backlog Certificate:
If you have any backlogs, then your educational organization will issue a document regarding the detail of your backlogs. It is called the backlog certificate. Students need to submit their testimonials while applying for admission. If anyone has backlogs, then they need to submit the backlog certificate. Therefore, don’t forget to collect the certificate if you have a backlog and apply for admission into abroad universities.

How are Universities Counted Backlogs?
Backlogs count is not the same for all universities. Some universities count the numbers you tried to clear a backlog, while some universities the subjects in which you can’t get the qualifying marks. Let’s talk about them in detail:

The Number of Attempts to Clear Supplementary Is Counted As The Backlog Numbers:
Some popular abroad universities in Australia counted backlogs by the numbers of failed candidates to clear the supplementary. Suppose you have got supplementary in one subject, but tried two times to remove it, then two will be your backlog score (as you have attempted twice). The countries that considered your attempts as backlog scores want to check your commitment to education.

The Number of Failed Subjects is Considered As Backlog Score:
Some nations, such as the US and the UK, count backlog scores as per the number of failed subjects. They don’t care about the number you tried to clear the supplementary.

Suppose you got supplementary in one subject but appeared five times to score the qualifying marks; your backlog score will be one. The reason is that the number of failed subjects is considered backlog scores.

Now, the question is if a student can apply for abroad universities with backlogs? Well, you can apply without clearing the backlogs in the countries that accept it. The universities will provide you with a conditional letter if they grant your application. There they will ask you to clear your backlogs before the starting of your learning program. So, you can apply and also get selected. But you have to remove all backlogs to start your further study abroad.

The Nations Where Universities Allow Backlogs:
Australian Universities:
Private universities in Australia allow a maximum of seven to eight backlogs, and Go8 universities grant a maximum of two to three backlogs of the applicants.

Australian universities follow several attempts to clear backlogs as the score. Therefore, you can apply to both private and public Australian universities.

Canadian Universities:
Universities in Canada allow up to five backlogs, but the students should have an average of 70% in their previous courses. For post-graduation courses, universities of Canada allow seven to eight backlogs but for the students who have a 65% in graduation. Students with ten to twelve backlogs can’t apply for degree courses, but diploma courses are open for them. Students who have more than twelve backlogs are assessed according to specific incidents.

New Zealand:
Leading universities in New Zealand allow students who have up to five backlogs. However, few universities accept twelve to fifteen backlogs. A good IELTS score plays a vital factor in getting admissions into Kiwi universities. Besides that, Kiwi universities also consider good research or extra-curricular activities for the students with backlogs.

The UK:
The universities in the UK allow students with fifteen backlogs. But for these universities, decent marks are required in the English-language aptitude test, such as it is a must for the students to score six or more in IELTS. The students with backlogs must get admission to UK universities.

The US:
Maximum USA universities don’t accept the applications of learners with backlogs. But in some exceptional incidents, they might consider up to five backlogs. But in that case, students who have backlogs need to score between 315 to 320 in GRE.

Ireland:
Ireland universities allow students with the highest four to five backlogs. But some Irish institutions are strict regarding backlogs. They only consider students with only two to three backlogs.

Conclusion:
Overall, backlogs also don’t impact getting a visa if universities grant your prayer of application. But it would be best if students with backlogs consult expert abroad learning consultancy. Study Abroad is such a consultancy that helps students to locate the best universities that accept backlogs. This consultancy also guides learners regarding how to clear backlogs.
