This type of referencing style helps to protect the findings from research without affecting the intellectual property or breaking of any law. Harvard writing style have a specific format that can easily help to prevent the findings. This type of referencing style is a parenthetical referencing system.

This type of referencing style contains two most important components. The two components are in-text citations and reference lists. In-text citations contains the name & surname of the author & the year of publications, which is written in brackets. This is placed inside the text and is related to the source from where the source has been contributed. Reference list is another component that is listed at the end of research which include all the sources from where the work has been searched.

Harvard referencing tool is used by the researchers, writers and students to list all the sources from where the research or study has been done. This type of referencing style is also listed in the bibliography of the research paper. Bibliography of the research paper contains all the details of the material that has been studied to conduct the research. 

In Harvard referencing, the in-text citations is used to incorporate the sentence. If the work is cited in appendix then that is included in reference list or else if it has used direct quote from any page number, then the page number should be citied in the in-text citations. The abbreviation that can be used for page is p or pp.
