It is not permitted for there to be any screaming guitar solos or trumpets. During dinner, some of the best musical options are easy listening, classical music, piano, and jazz with a smooth feel.
While you and your guests are eating, the DJ will play some light music, but they won't turn up the volume too much since they know you'll want to be able to talk to one another. If the music were played at a very loud volume, it would make it impossible for people to talk to one another. The music will most likely be instrumental, and may include works for piano, jazz classics, or classical compositions.
